Are we living in The Sims?
While scanning the Collide Magazine blog, I followed a link to an article about an Oxford professor who suggests there is a 20% chance that we’re living inside a computer simulation. In other words, human beings may be virtual characters made up of computer circuits and code inside the computer of some divine computer geek. Funny article!

I think I saw that movie.
The first one was cool cause it was a bunch of escapist fun, the second and third one were a wierd and reminded me bad something can get when no one says “No, thats a bad idea.” Sometimes more is not more.
On the other hand if you want a theological look at said argument (of living inside a computer), the idea of mediated reality and mediation (of grace through sacraments, symbols, and ultimatly through the incarnation) and symbology are something that has facinated the church for centuries; and are the things doctral thesis are written on.
It also reminds of the movie “The Thirteenth Floor”. I think that’s a bit closer than “The Matrix” to what this professor was saying.
I think there’s a 35% chance that the professor had a rather old fillet with his fish and chips dinner, causing the ensuing insomnia to birth a 100% bunk suggestion.
